St Thomas a Becket, Sutton Under Brailes

Sutton Lane
Sutton Under Brailes
OX15 5BH

The small hamlet of Sutton is very proud of this simple 12th century church, which shows off Cotswold stone at its best. Look out for the carvings that sit just below the eaves of the roof and those with particularly sharp eyesight may be able to pick out the simple finger sundial on the external the south wall. Above a pretty bay window in the main body of the church , sits a small royal arms made in bronze, perhaps made for a tomb that was never erected?
