St Mary, Ilmington

between Back Street and Valenders Lane
Ilmington
CV36 4LJ

This Norman church sits in the centre of an idyllic village, surrounded by beautiful Cotswold countryside. The highest point in Warwickshire is nearby. Inside the church you will find oak pews by master-craftman, Robert Thompson, whose unique signature of a carved mouse can be found 11 times here.

A treasure of this the church is the embroidered Apple Map, designed by a local artist. It is an exact copy of old maps showing show where all the orchards were. There is also a peal of 8 bells and a fine organ

Morris Dancing is an integral part of the village, and Sam Bennett (a famous morris dancer) is buried in the churchyard.
