St Lawrence, Oxhill

Church Lane
Oxhill
CV35 0NZ

The 15th century porch encloses a beautifully carved Norman doorway and the nave and chancel both date from the 12th century.

The carved stone Norman font was substitued at one time, being thought a little too risque because of its naked depictions of Adam and Eve. It was discovered in a garden at Ettington and restored to the church in 1879. Several ancient memorials give fascinating insights into the lives of past parishioners and rectors.
