Holy Trinity, Churchover
Church Street
Churchover
A rural church, one of the six in the Revel group, sitting in the middle of a small hamlet of houses. The church has connections with the Dixwell family, John Dixwell being one of the judges who signed the death warrant of Charles I. He was banished to New England in America and became a founding father of New Haven in Connecticut. There are charming black and white photographs dotted around the building reflecting the life of the church and village over the past 100 years. Excellent views of the River Swift valley can be seen from the extension to the churchyard and many public footpaths can be accessed from the village itself.
Other churches in the group featured on this site are to be found at Monks Kirby and Brinklow.
