St Nicholas, Kenilworth
High Street
Kenilworth
CV8 1LY
Overlooking the beautiful Abbey Fields, this church is graced with a unique and sumptuous Romanesque doorway of Norman stonework. Kenilworth’s royal castle is close by, and no fewer than six English kings from Henry III to Henry VIII visited St Mary’s Abbey whose ruins now adjoin the churchyard. Just as its townspeople have for eight centuries, both Queen Elizabeth and King James took Holy Communion in the church itself.
