All Saints, Sherbourne
Church Road
Sherbourne
CV35 8AP
An impressively grand estate church in an incongruous rural setting, built by Sir George Gilbert Scott. The interior is packed with Victorian craftsmanship of the highest quality yet the elegant spire is almost impossible to see from the roads. A plaque commemorates a young man called Henry Maudsley. He was the youngest Squadron Leader in the Dambusters who lost his life during the attack on the Mohne Dam in 1943 aged 21.
