St Peter, Binton
Centre of Village
Binton
Captain Robert Falcon Scott, the leader of the ill-fated Antarctic expedition of 1910-12, spent his last few days in England in the tiny village of Binton. Married to the rectors daughter they often came to this peaceful spot with his wife, and it was here they said farewell before he set off aboard his ship, the Terra Nova, to Antarctica.
The four amazing stained glass windows, designed by Kempe tell the story of Scotts journey, from the excitement of setting out on their adventure through to the tragedy of the loss of life.
